    Default Perseid Shower

As some of you know, one of my personal challenges is to see a Perseid and (better) catch one on camera as early as possible. I saw my first on July 21st, 4 days after the official start.

I still haven't caught any on camera this year but have caught a couple of sporadics while trying.

I saw a magnitude 0 one tonight at 2117 GMT.
    Equipmentally challenged.

I have caught a couple really bright ones....but planning to pull an "all nighter" 12/13 August. Best to catch them in the pre-dawn hours.

Yesterday I saw a Perseíd, at least It came from Perseus. The remarkable thing was that he was a bit slow and flew through my 7.3 degrees binoculars field of view. I saw the end of it. It looked like the extinguishing of old fashioned fireworks. Quite nice!

For those of you out and about, I had a great hour from 2300 GMT. I only saw seven but four were exceptional. I now have about 400 frames to go through on two cameras.

I had about 400 images to go through and up to about 139.

I found one on the images that I hadn't seen:

We had an observing session 0130-0500 hrs, 12 August and captured 66 meteors. We kept the Moon blocked and at our backs for most of the evening...and it had pretty much set by 0345 hrs.
