    Well done, I appreciate your faith in encoders. I've been searching the skies with my frac lately, not much time on the XT10.

    I thought I was doing pretty well with a Wixey and a DIY az circle. But there were times when I'd think I was on a target but saw nothing, so I wasn't sure if it was the LP or my location was off. I have an 8x50 finder, but that's close to useless here aside from brighter stars.

    With the encoders, I have pretty high confidence that I'm on target. If an object isn't visible, it's much more likely it's the Chicago soup wiping it out than me being off.

    (BTW, my non-anglicized family name is Pakarinen. Suomi ikuisesti!)
