    This evening with 10X50, 20X80 Bino's and 54X102 Maksutov. Exit pupils of 5,4 and 2 mm. The Moon was dangerously close and looked rather grim. Nevertheless it popped up. The 20X80 did the best. The 10X50 gave a light background, a bit too light. The Mak gave a nice darker background but magnification was far too much too observe comfortably. The comet was big, but very faint. The 20X80 was the best way in between. No core this time, no details and no trail.
    The Moon and the misty skies nicely worked together in an attempt to prevent observing. I am glad they couldn't.

    Thanks for your nice reports John! I admire your perseverance, and it really is a necessary trait to finding your targets--many don't come easy, especially in light polluted skies.
