    Default Meh, 46p Wirtanen

    2230hrs
    Using 8x42 binos
Check comet location inside. Stepped outside to the deck with my planisphere and star walked. Stumbling over treetops in Eridanus.
    Upset I came back inside.
Decided to quietly slip out again and walk down to the bottom of the driveway, where the Southern sky is clear. Star walked again. Roughly 2 hands to the right of Orion's left foot (Rigel).
It was over by Eridanus n. Just a fuzzy smudge.
    But I saw it.

    As John said....

Anyway, I was lucky enough to see it from a very dark location, so it was bright enough to see naked eye and quite large in 10x50s. That said, it wasn't the most exciting comet I've seen. I think its more in the hunt and the knowledge of what it is you're looking at.

Was able to see it too. Quite bright, but it does look like an unresolved GC. I'm yet to see a tail in a comet (are they visible in anyway?)

Also saw Neptune for the first time, not that impressive, almost like a greenish star, pushed the mag as much as possible and it still looked pretty much as a point, maybe a little bit disky, but could easily be mistaken for a star...
