    According to the map, someone reported it roughly 25 - 30 miles from my house. I didn't see or hear anything though.

    Someone close to the track in SW Nova Scotia reported hearing a sonic boom. A friend of mine was out with her camera and grabbed a quick & dirty handheld photo of it:

    Less luck and more like being dedicated to her hobby. She is an excellent wide-angle night sky photographer and is out with her camera every clear night. I was pretty sure that if anyone had a photo of the fireball, it would be her.

    Dang Kathy, that was an awesome sight! That would have my mind going for quite some time! A meteor? Dang, that thing must have had some real mass to it!
    I remember going to work one morning in the dark years ago and I saw a fireball streaking across the sky with a red tail. Man, it really freaked me out!
    Turned out to be the space shuttle entering the atmosphere. It was really impressive. I was lucky enough to see two shuttle re-entries. Two of the coolest sights that I have ever seen.
