The Scutum nova is the last one I know about. This is a good place to find them https://asd.gsfc.nasa.gov/Koji.Mukai/novae/novae.html
Thanks, based on this I managed to locate its spot in SS5p. I hope I get lucky tonight!

Good luck! You might also need a closeup map like this one: https://www.aavso.org/apps/vsp/chart/?chartid=X23138AHA
Latest observations put V5668 Sgr at 12.3 mag.

I know, I generated two. I know exactly where to look. But your chart made me realize aavso still generates its position. 2.5 more hours and I can test the charts.

Wow -- way to go, Ray!! (Or should I say Master Ray? )
It sounds like quite a nice Observing Program. Our local club recently joined AL, so hopefully before long I'll start in on some of those programs (I've been eyeing them for quite a while).

There are two 8th mag stars to the south that point right at V5668 Sgr, always found that useful.

Well, I definitely saw a maybe! I spent 40 minutes at the nova and sometimes in averted vision I saw the closest starlet to it, and then really sometimes I think I caught a glimpse of nova sgr 2015 b. I hope the elusive pinprick was that, cuz that was the max I could shake out of my ole scope!

I last caught it in June with my 12.5" scope. On Aug 1st, someone estimated it was still 12.3 mag. Maybe your latitude is a problem, would only be about 15 degrees altitude for you.
