    Default Monoceros goodies

First i will talk about the Christmas tree and Cone, which i revisited for more goodies. Found out the Cone is at the top, a dark neb in the light one. I did see very vaint glow at 6mm only. Also a double star there stf 954, and hd 261903. Buut the real treat is the bottom, at 15mon, or stf 950 which is an 8 member multiple star system! I saw a sketch. And right beside is stf 952 and D 11, two more doubles. And at the middle of the tree there are 3 stars in a triangle, inside which protostars known as the Snowflake cluster. I could only see the triangle. And the whole Christmas tree shebang is in fact OB1 Mon stellar association! Wonderful!

I also visited OB2? which is he Rosette Neb cluster plus Cr 106, 107, 98, an ngc in the middle. Also found triple stf988.

I went for threeasterisms too in Mon: hd 50612 51956 and 52891, and also found around them from ss5p doubles like: stta82, bal1379? Gal 291

And i was in the vicinity, so i visited the Seagull neb with uhc, a nice faint grey streak behind a streak of starlets, and beside it i maybe spotted Gum1.

I also tried for the planetary M1-9,but at 13.5 mag saw nothing.

    I enjoyed these goodies immensely

    Great report, milan!

There are lots of goodies in the region of the Christmas Tree Cluster and the Rosette Nebula. I still haven't officially logged them all. Maybe that will be my next session.

Thanks again for the enthusiastic report.

Thanks for the nice words, guys. The best was stf 950. I was looking at it imagining how do those eight stars revolve around each other? Not to mention that stf 950 and D 11 doubles were as close visually as those companions were...

Glad that you were able to enjoy Monoceros, Milan! I've been enjoying this constellation myself, along with Canis Major.

Great session Milan! I went through the same area a few days ago. I believe I logged the same 8 components of 15 Mon, but there are a few more. Check my report from yesterday, if you are interested.
