To upload your Messier (or Southern Skies Challenge) spreadsheet to the forum, simply follow these steps.

    1) Firstly, make sure your spreadsheet has the .XLS file extension. This can be done by saving your spreadsheet as an Excel '97-2013 format spreadsheet. It's under the "save" options when saving a file. New versions of Excel, by default, save with the .XLSX extension, and the forum software does not like those. If anyone needs any help with that bit, please let me know.

    2) Next, go to your respective awards thread, whether that be for the M30, M70, or M110. Once in the thread, go to the "reply" box at the bottom, and click the "Go Advanced" button:

    3) On the next screen, choose the little paperclip icon:

    4) Next, choose "Add Files":

    5) Then click "Choose File":

    6) Locate your file on your computer, click on it, then click "Open":

    7) Next, click the "upload" button:

    8) Then click "insert inline":

    9) You should then see something like this:

Feel free to type any other text as you desire, just like any other reply.

    10) All that is left now is to post the message:

That's all there is to it. You have now successfully uploaded your spreadsheet to the forum.

If anyone needs any help with this, please don't hesitate to ask or shoot me a PM.

I'm a spreadsheet guy, and have been wondering about setting up something for the Messiers, this is awesome. If you don't mind I will take a page from your book. johnnyb
