Well dang. Sometimes it is hard to judge. Sometimes CSC is right, and sometimes CO (Clear Outside) is. As tricky as the sky has been this summer so far, it makes it hard to make a determination.

We'll whup 'em tomorrow night though.

Yup, there's always tomorrow! Just glad I decided to observe on Friday night. The worst night of the weekend (according to CSC, "average transparency") turned out to be the best night.

OK, so now CSC has finally changed its forecast to "cloudy" and transparency as "too cloudy to forecast" and "poor" from 10pm to 1am.

Howdy Bryan! great read as usual. Very impressed with your sketch, is this a practice run before the start of your S40 quest?
As for these neighbors, you do have the big dob pointing up and not at them during setup?

    Thanks Wayne!

You never know. Sometime when I'm feeling froggy I may just sit down and relax a while and scratch out a sketch. My galaxies and globs wouldd look like belly button lint, but, they kinda look like that anyway.

Heck yeah the dob is pointed up and not at them. That's the wrong kinda belly button lint!

Bryan, you are indeed a trooper, albeit one who knows how to clear a crowd. A lesser observer (me, for example) would have stayed inside once the muddled conditions promised to provide less-than-excellent skies. Good Job!!

Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice report. We always enjoy your adventures.

Thanks for the usual great report Bryan. I've found NGC 6749 to be elusive in the Z10, hopefully I will be able to catch it in the big scope. Great night out there!

Thanks Michael! I'm sure the 18" will easily manage it, especially if the transparency is decent. At any rate, it will merit a glass of Merlot once you've nailed it down!

Can I hire you to use your neighborhood clearing super power? Does it work on a permanent basis? I wouldn't cry over some of my neighbors leaving!
