    Default The moons

Nearly full moon and a clear night so you look at? Jupiter's moons! Well after my initial excitement of thinking I could see 6 moons only to realize two were stars, I took a look at the other moon nearby.

After I burned my eye out from the light I decided to get some video.

Some day I may mosaic everything together but this was the first capture.

Yep, it was quite a moon show last night! I caught Jupiter's big 4, a few of Saturn's, and of course our own.

Nice lunar capture! And with all the ejecta rays radiating out of Capernicus Crater there, that ought to serve as an important lesson: do not operate spacecraft while under the influence. Wonder how fast that rascal was going when it impacted?

Thanks for the report David, and for the nice image!

Very nice capture. Thanks for sharing your work.

Bryan, I saw BOTH of our Moons this morning at 0230. That is until I realized I was looking through the line in my bifocals.
