    Cool Messier reports question

    Hi All
I have a quick question on Messier reports
When posting them do I start a new thread for each report or do I just reply to my original thread so they are all in the same thread.
    Thanks

I kept mine all in one thread and just kept adding to it until completed.

I only started a second thread once I started pursuing Messier 70.

I am no expert, but that is what I did and it seems to have worked.

Look forward to seeing your reports how ever you do them!
    Will

You can post your observations, photos, sketches in one thread, no threads, multiple threads etc. as there is no requirement to post your progress. Posting in one thread seems the favorite method and does make it easier for people to follow your progress if you want to share it with the membership. In the end, you will need to make a formal application for an award which has every thing consolidated in the application.

According to the directions you can make an Excel spreadsheet or RTF list and when you finish your first 30 objects you can upload the list and notify the moderators through PM (private messaging) when you are ready.

I have just completed observing the full Messier set (concluded last night with my last two). Yippee!

I have reports for my own log book (spreadsheet) for the last 4 years that it has taken me to get them and I have sketched about half of them until I got cheesed off just drawing 'fuzzy blob'. Am I able to submit these for the 'Awards' programme?

    Thanks

Congratulations on your effort. I understand about fuzzy blobs.. that's my style too.

To be given the award your application must include the date each object was observed, a brief description of your observation of each object, and the equipment used. There is no time limit. Sketches or photographs can also be used but are not required for a visual award. If your log meets this criteria, it can be used. There is no requirement for a thread where you show sketches, photographs, or reports of your observations as you progress. However, there is no reason why you can not have such a thread(s) if you wish to sharer progress with others.
