    Default Cherry Springs DSP

Last Wednesday, I made it to Cherry Springs Dark Sky Park in Pennsylvania, unfortunately, the sky was clouded over for most of the night (Thin clouds, could still make out most of the constellations through them, but could only see the brighter stars). Despite this, I believe the trip was still worth it. I met a kind astronomer named Dennis who I spent most of the night talking to, he showed me how to polar align my telescope (I had be using it non-aligned before), and suggested a Telrad and 40mm lens compared to my 20mm. It was a great day/night, and I plan on returning.

I'd say it was a worthwhile trip! Anytime you can gain experience and knowledge from those that have been at this a while, it's a worthwhile venture. Even if the stars are MIA for the night.

Here's to hoping the skies cooperate for your next venture!

Cherry Springs is an amazing amazing place! Do make an effort to go back.

I used to visit when I lived in PA, and it's been years. I'm planning a trip there in July. Let's hope for clear skies!
