December 3-4 at GMARS (the Goat Mountain Astronomical Research Station), in Landers, Southern California.

From the Riverside Astronomical Society website: The site is at 34° 17' 28" N, 116° 23' 01" W, at an elevation of 2950 feet. GMARS is north of Botkin Road, south of a street with various names, including Knox-Niman Road, and a hundred yards east of Gibraltar Road. Gibraltar runs south about 1.8 miles to Reche Road. Reche is paved, but the other roads mentioned are unpaved hard packed sand.

Default Star Party in Flint Michigan

The Sloan Longway Museum / Planetarium has a few star parties every year (this year was my first time to one and it was an awesome experience!) The next one is:

    Date: May 14
Time: 8:00pm (Set up at 7:30)
    Location: 1310 East Kearsley Street
    Flint, Michigan 48503

Be aware that it is a "family" event that happens after a short planetarium show, so there will be a TON of kids looking through your scope. They'll clear out as it gets later, but it's still a great experience. You get to amaze them with even the most basic ideas and facts about the Universe!

There are a good amount of people who bring good scopes though - so don't be put off by that first part! My XT10 will be there :P

Oh, also, message me if you plan on going. It would be cool to know who is from the forum!

Default Orion Star Party on Table Mountain, Washington

Contacted the Seattle Astronomical Society about the Orion Star Party on Table Mountain, they aren’t going to host one this year. I was informed that the Yakima Astronomical Society will have an impromptu star party on Table Mountain the last weekend in August.
