    Default astronomy and god

As a recent astronomer but a physicist since the 1960s based upon my observations of fellow scientists the answer to your question is "it just depends." I've known just as many scientists who were believer as non-believers in a "god." The wonders of the universe and the insignificance of man tend to strengthen the convictions of believers and non-believers equally. I think that you need to find a better horse to whip than science to play the "god" game. If you want to play that game then the proper question is “do the earth’s religious wars, intolerance, persecution, bigotry, injustice, poverty, greed, and hate lead you to believe in god or not?”

Hi Sxinias ... this is one of the "old threads" that we are slowly digging into and "dealing with" ... for now I am going to lock it, but this one may very well end up being deleted ... nothing personal ... Our new/current TOS does not allow for religious debate ...
