Default Basic Question on RA

hi,
i've read that on mar 21 the earth is at a RA=12hrs - can someone please explain this as i thought it would be RA=0 on that date.

i understand the intersection of the ecliptic & equatorial plane as the datum point etc.

just started teaching myself the basics.

cheers.
