Default Sunrise Calculation

Hypothetical Question : If one was setting up a dome tent in Washington State and wanted to have the morning sun shine through the front door at sunrise by using a compass, would orientation factoring in the 20 deg. Easterly declination for Seattle be more accurate than just using magnetic north as a starting point. I am sure time of year also plays into the picture. What would be the most accurate method taking all 3 points into consideration I am afraid I would have made a poor Egyptian astronomer.

"...the 20 deg. Easterly declination for Seattle" The what Time of year and location (latitude) are important. In the summer the sun rises further north (of east) and further south in the summer.
