Default AF no longer 'greys out' read posts

One of the features of AF in the past was that once a thread was completely read the summary page showed the thread title in light grey font (as an indication that it has no new posts). This feature disappeared around the time when the issues of not being able to post images occurred, but unlike the image post problem has yet to be fixed. Are there plans to bring this useful capability back?

I don't remember ever seeing that feature. On my browser, threads with unread posts show the title in bold type and threads with all the posts read show in normal type. That feature still works just fine.

Any chance that yor browser settings have changed?

For me, the "gray out" occurs on the two blue and green balloons at the left of the forum title.

And, it remains working fine for me.

My normal process is to read message threads completely then press the back button to get back to the summary list. It used to then show the thread I just completed greyed out so I have a history of what I've read and where I left off. Really helpful. Doesn't do that anymore. I checked with all my browsers, at work and home, so it's not a browser setting. Hmmm; I can't believe I'm the only one who remembers this 'feature'.

Here is how my browser shows read and unread threads:

The first two threads (normal type) shown have no unread posts. The next two (bold type and an extra icon) have unread posts. I use the Vb4 Default style (selected at the bottom of the page), as it produces the best readability through a red gel. I am not sure how the other styles represent things.

I remember the feature as well, and even brought up the change in behavior shortly after the forum upgrade in November. It is NOT working the same way it did. Before the upgrade, if I read a post, then clicked on the "New Posts" icon, the post would remain in the list, but the text would not be BOLD, so I would still see it in the new posts, but be able to tell that I had read it, and that there were no newer updates. Now, after I read it and click "New Posts", it is just gone from the list.

BTW, what makes you think the image posting issue is fixed? That one is a killer for me, the post behavior change is more of an annoyance.

Kathy - that is the behavior I am trying to recover. It isn't part of the style - I just switched from Green to the Vb4 default, and it continues to remove posts that I have looked at. I would love to know what setting does control the behavior, and will be poking around my profile to see of I can discover it.

Have you disabled "cookies"? The site software needs cookies to keep track of which posts you have or haven't read. Maybe your antivirus is blocking them?

If you reload the summary page after hitting the back button it should show the un BOLDED threads.
