    Default Galactic anticenter

Does anyone have a finder chart for scopes for whhere exactly to look? I found on the net only the naked eye view that it is at the border of Taurus and Auriga. The place where you look exactly away to the opposite from the center of the galaxy. Any chart that is more detailed? I read it was at a triangular asterism or something... I thought it would be interesting to look up... Literally.

Milan, the best I can do for you is a couple of charts I made based on a "rough" position for the anticenter I got from the web. The three star asterism you mention is likely the one I also saw online but that is from very deep stellar studies and not something you would see visually.

However, given the issues with uploading files, I cannot post them. So send me your email address and I will send them to you that way. What you will get is a wider chart plotted to stellar mag 12.0 and shows it position relative to Beta Tauri (Alnath). The second is closer in and plotted to mag 14.0. On the second one I also indicated a couple of nearby poor open clusters for your pursuit, namely Teutsch 10 and Czernik 23.

Thanks to Clinton for including the link to the article, I was going to do so, but already done! Have fun.

Alan, I hope when the forum is fixed you will post the charts.

It is a little discussed and explored area. Thanks for bringing this up Milan.

Absolutely Clinton. But if this drags on for a long time, I might need to be reminded. After all, I am old you know!
