Light Trespass (yes it can be illegal depending on local ordinances to spill light onto your 'neighbors' property)

Controlled contours, many area / site / architectural lighting fixtures provide controlled 'optics' to place the light where it is needed and not where it is not wanted.

Now about 'solar powered' lighting. You probably do not want to bring this up but its a false economy. Expect many of them to fail quite quickly and those that dont will still require regular maintenance due to the fact thy use batteries. Also when you have several days of cloudy weather the lights will NOT last dusk to dawn.

Modern LED lights connected to a power source will last a very very long time with little lumen depreciation and almost no maintenance. But there hard to shoot out
