You're quite right about the weather in Britain being useless. In the last 2 months I've only had one night out with my scope, and that was a frustrating few hours spent mainly looking at clouds. Hopefully the weather will improve soon!
The weather has been terrible for observing in Georgia. I was out a few times a week last year. This year, I've been out 4 or 5 times since January. On the nights with no clouds, the humidity was so high that the sky was almost soupy and you ended up soaked in sweat in a few minutes.
Hopefully, the Fall will bring clear night skies.

Here in eastern Ontario, Canada I've been having a pretty productive year. I've had an opportunity to get on 21 occasions and log over 160 targets so I'm feeling pretty good. I started astronomy in the summer of 2009 and this my best year yet.

In the UK we have the wettest drought on record!
After two dry winters, the day they announced hose pipe bans and other water restrictions 3 months ago it hasn't stopped raining. Water restrictions are at least lifted but I have only managed to snatch a hour here or there observing barely time for the tube to cool. If you're coming for the Olympics pack your wet weather gear!
Markan - I'm glad someone is having good weather for observing!
Are you doing any of the Astronomical League's observing programs?
-Steve
Hi Steve. I'm working through the Deep Sky Binocular program and some of the Carbon Star program although I'm not a member of the Astronomical League. I don't think I'll ever get them all complete because winter time observing is very difficult. I'm primarily doing them just for the fun of observing and learning the night sky. The binocular deep sky has been especially good with helping me learn the constellations.

My weather in Miami Florida has been normal so far for our rainy season... I have had a few clear spells though. It's not too bad right now.
