The build was simple because the diameter of the camera's zoom lens and the eyepiece was the same, and also because the eyepiece had a rim around it behind which I could hook a plastic gasket to which the camera is attached. So it's just those 3 parts that you see in the picture: a cardboard piece of toilet roll, cut into and tightened with tape, the plastic gasket cut out of a plastic lid of a food container, and a rubber string cut from a piece of bicycle tube. For other situations you have to be creative.

The pvc trick works well, I have done this in past myself.

I still have my original Maxview II from Scopetronix back in days when I had Coolpix camera. Sits in box now collecting dust. Think I had the one for Coolpix 8100 or 8300, great camera back in day. The Maxview II was huge chunk of glass, not sure if they still sell them.

The Maxview II was 2 inches, weighed between 1 to 1.5lbs, about same size as my 35 panoptic, they ran around $180 when they were sold.

Thank you all for the great replies!
Pitter, I am lucky as I live very close to a huge hardware store, so as soon as I get the camera adapter (I have bought it, but it hasn't arrived yet) I will go there!
