Thanks Karl,

yes I have a similar setup now and I do think I have the Synta 2" Crayford on the ED 100 too (how did you put it on the dob?). All I have to do is put it in, then just screw it tight on the ED 100 end.

Yes - that's definitely a Synta 2" Crayford on your ED

The one on my Dob is a different one, which I bought seperately, they make 'em for reflectors too.
This is the same one I have on the Dob.

Ok thanks to everyones help I am getting there.

Not perfect (far from it!) but a good start



I guess its off by a bit. It is hard to focus when you can't see the faint stars through the finder in the camera. I guess I need to invest in a adaptor that lets me use an eyepiece along with a digital camera to focus?

Also do people use software to focus and if so how does this work if you need to manually shift the focus knobs yourself?
