Default AstroTortilla... Can this work with Celestron SE series scopes?

    AstroTortilla / Home / Home

Has anyone used this? Can it be set up to work with an SE scope, like my 5se? This is very interesting to me, as it seems as though it would remove the need to use eyepieces at all... Or am I missing something?

I'd like to hear more from people that have tried using it.

It's independent of "scope" (i.e. the optics) - but it needs an ASCOM compliant mount that it can control.

You should be able to connect your 5SE handset to a computer via the supplied cable and a USB:RS232 adapter. Then you can install the ASCOM platform+Celestron drivers. If you can get a planetarium package such as Stellarium or CdC to control your scope , then AT will also be able to control it!

This sounds great. I have all of the things you mentioned... I use stellarium, backyardeos, and have cables connected to control it all. I'm pretty excited right now...
