Meh. Just another self-help fad. Tony Robbins, etc.

I will say this though - excessive clutter can cause a certain level of stress and impair one's efficiency. Just have to separate the wheat from the chaff in her program.

30 books? I have about 500! Lol! I love the smell of books especially old books. I just can't picture myself sitting in my recliner, in front of a cozy fire, swiping my finger across an Ebook screen! Bill

    Hello all,

I have been collecting books on philosophy, history and natural sciences since my young times,
but not so much the novels, as my parents told me not to read for fun, but to learn.
So, it happened that I have got some old prints, as shown in the attachment.

My wife buys and reads novels for fun, 2 books per month on average.

    Best,

Does anything beat the smell of a used book store in an old residence?

Yes, she must be stopped. Bad grammar. Should have been "...keep fewer than twenty books". Please excuse any grammatical errors in this post.

She has a right to her opinions, no mater how silly they are. She most likely has CDO. It is a lot like OCD except that the letters are in proper alphabetical order.

If she said there should be no more than thirty books in any given shelf, I could go along with that. I think the limit on books should be when they create a legitimate fire hazard.

She reminds me somewhat of people who say, "All you need is three eyepieces and a couple of Barlows." I can see their point and believe it. I have more than 30 sets of three eyepieces.

    Thank you Bill

That's why we have fire alarms in every room.
Besides the kitchen, of course, where there are just the books about cooking, and about cooking with the use of fire.

Hello Bill, JG, and all. Marie would hate my house. I have well over 400 cookbooks, including all of the classics, some autographed more recent ones, and I love the "regional/local" printings for the interesting recipes based on locally available foods and traditions. To me, they are a treasure trove of information. As far as kitchen fires go, this is not because of the cookbooks, but because of the hasty brand new cooks that don't pay attention to what the books say or what they are doing with the heat.
