    Default A huge object comming out of the sun, followed by multiple comets

    I was roaming through the SOHO history, and found a couple interesting things.

    well, the date you need to watch is 2008-14-17.

    if you'll watch the video from that date, you'll see what looks like a huge star coming out of the sun, and soon after it does, i noticed the screen turn white all over, this happened very, very fast.

    anyone else care to take a look and let me know what they think? and would that be just an average comet shower or?

    The SOHO site has a FAQ page that explains all of the anomalies seen in SOHO images. They got tired of people seeing things and making wild speculations about spaceships and UFOs and posted explanations.

    At this point I consider your postings to be trolling. I will no longer respond to them.

    for one, i've mentioned nothing about a "UFO", that's your mind doing that, so don't pin it on me.

    also, all the comets/meteors weren't an "anomalie".

    why don't you people check this out yourself before you start assuming the poster is lying?

    also, mattthewota, you're simply hurt because i said some mean things to you, so i'd appreciate it if you just didn't reply on any of my posts -at all-

    keep your immature opinions about me to yourself.

    Giving you some benefit of the doubt that you're not a troll, some comments:

    - there is no such thing as a "comet shower". You're seeing the effects of normal trailing and some meteoric activity around 15:42 UMT on LASCO C3 imaging.

    - nothing is "coming out of the sun", you're seeing Mercury in its normal orbital path coming from behind (not out of) the sun.

    The date your referencing should be 2008-04-17, not "2008-14-17". It helps others to answer your questions if you supply correct, and complete information like "I was looking at the SOHO LASCO C3 data from 2008-04-17 through 2008-04-18 and saw...."

    1. You should have posted a direct URL linking to the image, instead of making people hunt for it.

    2. The title of your post is inflammatory, nonsensical and is basically trolling.

    3. The SOHO scientists have published a FAQ page describing all of the "anomalies" seen in images because they got tired of people making fantastic claims of Planet X and/or UFOs being imaged by the spacecraft. The FAQ is here:

    there is no link for this specific picture, i found it on a video, and took a screenshot. you'll have to hover your lazy fingers over your keyboard and type if you don't believe the picture i posted.

    and the title of my post simply describes the picture, stay the **** off my thread if all you're going to do repeat yourself and deny that the picture is real.

    kicked off the forum for defending myself against a prick like you? and i'm pretty sure you do this to every newcommer on this forum who asks a question that you think is "simple" because you "know so much"

    you're the one who comes on my thread, insulting me in a "sophisticated" manner.

    incase you didn't notice, this is the beginners astronomy forum, if you're not a beginner, then quit trolling around here trying to make people feel stupid for asking questions.

    i'm done arguing with you, so stay off my threads, and there will be no conflict between us. i wont reply to anything else you type, because i will be the superior one here to end this argument before it goes any further. i came here with a question, looking for an opinion or an answer, not just smart remarks from people like you.

    and once again, keep your moronic opinions to yourself.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    so can anyone actually give me an opinion in a non-insulting way, about the shower in the picture?
