Default Just bought my first telescope

After weeks of chatting with the likes of Vinnie, carlos, Russ, just to mention a few, I have bought myself a telescope (also a word of thanks to the above mentioned) since they helped me just about every step of the way in helping choose my telescope, the Celestron Astromaster 130. Always telling me the Pros and cons of certain telescopes, or what they would do in their situation. Ofcourse I will make use of the eye pieces given but will ask the Wise Men on the forum, when needing advice when I want to step up either with EP or moving to the next level of telescope.

Right now, Im feeling like a kid waiting for his Xmas presents, for me delivery day couldnt come any sooner

Hot diggity dawg, Ice! Got me grinning here, and thanks for the comments. Glad to help in any way I could. Hey, watch the ceiling while you're bouncing around the house, heh, heh. That's a good scope, really it is. And for a beginner, it's so very nice to have something that's not hard to grab and set up. One of those every-night-any-time scopes. Aperture can come later when you feel like ya just gotta have it, no matter the effort required (starts with a low-grade fever and ends with foaming at the mouth if not satisfied).

There is SO MUCH to be seen at that scope's aperture, at those powers, with that very equipment that you could spend many years, or even a lifetime, with nothing more than what's coming your way. Hey, to use some of that energy you have right now you could go online and start reading the owner's manual. If you have a question, put it on here. You'll know it by heart by the time it arrives.

Have a blast, pal. Let us know how it's going.

Must tell you this Ive started some nights before getting used to using the Stellarium....now I must add I didnt know this programmes true "power", so while reading up glancing on the monitor, I sometimes have the habit of placing my mouse cursor on an object...so for some reason, I had it on the moon and I go back to reading and Im doing so for a few minutes, then not really realising after one has set up ones location, the Stellarium starts moving in Real Time and I nearly fell of my chair and like Dr Frankenstein, I said, "Its alive..its alive"

I must say a very good programme, cause when I really zoomed in, to the moon and added the grid, it was so cool to see how smoothly it moved along! Still have to install it on my laptop....and get that red film to cover the screen, since I would prefer using that outside when I do my first gazing!

Congratulations Ice!! Whats great about Stellarium is that its never cloudy, can be night time anytime you wish, and mosquito's don't come with the free version.
