    Cool What`s our favorite...?

Constellation, star, nebula, messier etc. and why?

My personal favorite is Orion, and the star Rigel because when I was little I always saw it from my window and spent 2 weeks to figure out what star it was and that`s how my passion started

    Hi Tiyda.

    Welcome to the forum!

I have had a lifelong fascination with Saturn. It was the first thing other than the moon, that I saw and recognised through a telescope.

Talking about planets, I have a paricular interest for Jupiter`s moon Europa. It`s aspect and surface are amazing!
Since it is made of ice, is it likely that there might be life on the small moon?I would be more pesimistic...

Like Vinnie, the moon and then Saturn were my first objects in a scope. And Orion has always been my favorite constellation.

But, last winter I connected with the Coma Star Cluster (Melotte 111) in Coma Berenices through binoculars for the first time in many years. I don't know how to describe it, but it just seems to "say" something to me, like there's a message in it or something. Maybe there is, and I'm the only human cracked enough in the brain to get it. But there is much doubt.

Saturn, Venus ,The Moon Jupiter Easy to find. The Ring and the Veil nebulas harder to find and it takes quite a bit to get the most out of them, something I am still working on.

I would have to say my two favorites are the double cluster (NGC 869 and 884) and M81/M82. I just think it is really cool to have two DSO's in the same field of view.
