Default Astronomy Hacks: Hack 19 - Keep Your Charts At The Eyepice

Here is another Idea I never would have thought of. They recomend keeping your charts at the eyepiece by securing them to the telescope tube using magnets. Of course this will work best for us Dob owners, and I can't see how it would work at all on a refractor. It certainly is considerably easier than going to the chart table repeatedly. As soon as I learn how to print said charts I will be trying this one.

I tried this one out tonight and it worked fairly well. It was a lot easier than going into the garage every two minutes (for brief outings I just spread my maps out on my wifes trunk). One thing I learned was that it works best to put the map on the finder scope side (I had to keep walking around the scop to look at the chart - until I switched the chart to the other side).
