Default Cartes Du Ciel

Just downloaded Cartes Du Ciel (how is this pronounced?) as well as the catalogues for Messier, NGC, Caldwell, and Herchel. If anyone has any tips or advice on using this software I would like to hear them. I have messed around with it a little, but would like to know some of the tricks in using it.

Will check back later. Going outside now, I have a clear night after two days of rain.

I gotta remember my schoolboy French here. Try "Cart Doo See Ell". Means Sky Maps (literally Maps of the The Heavens)

Does anyone have any idea how to make this program display only some NGC items? I want to make some star charts with some NGC items, but when I turn on that "catalogue" my screen is completely covered with NGC objects. Any help with this program will be appreciated.
