Default New here

Hello everyone.
Just wanted to introduce myself. I just got a telescope(meade ds2090). I know I will get grief for this, but I used one someone else had an liked how it was, so I got one for myself. I realize there are better out there, so lets all spare the "should have gotten something different" remarks. I am pretty psyched to get this outside and start exploring. Later on down the road, if i get really into this, I can always get another scope and pay this one forward. If anyone owns this scope and has any tips or tricks with it, please let me know. I look forward to meeting everyone on here and browsing the threads and learning as much as I can.
-Ryan

Welcome Ryan:

Glad to have you aboard... and enjoy that scope. I shopped around a bit before getting myself a small beginner's reflector (no shame in it, a $149 toy, and did an introductory post on it under the reflector telescope forums).
I'm guessing yours is a 90mm refractor. Should be great for looks at the Moon, planets, and even doubles/clusters .

yea. its a 90mm. I set it up with hopes of getting outside with it tonite. Unfortuanatly the weather did not hold up. So I will spend a little more time reviewing the manual and browse this site and read up a bit more. I am really excited to get outside and check some stuff out.

Well, I'm sitting here with my new scope, too... for the same reason ... clouds and rain. Browsing some other forums, I learned about a new scope "curse" that always seems to follow the delivery/purchase.

Hey Speed,
welcome to the forums

im not the best judge of telescopes, however to me it seems its a decent scope for quick setup and easy transport. I first had a 10" dob and it was not very easy to lug it up from the basement and into the car.

And we would love to hear a small review if you could post one of your telescope after you use it in the Meade Forums here

let us know if you see anything
cheers

it seems to be easy enough to break down and set up in field so we will see what happens. I will def. write up a review in the meade forum as soon as the weather breaks and I can get a chance to use this. Thanks for the welcome everyone.

well, the weather broke last night just enough to allow a trial run of the scope. Tonight however, the sky is cloudless and I am looking forward to nightfall. I will be creating an ongoing review on this scope(meade ds2090 with GoTo AutoStar) in the refractor category on the forums. If you are interested to follow my nightly progress with this check out the thread. As soon as I get the imaging camera and software I will begin to add pictures in with my review also.

Your welcome Falcon. Keep an eye on the review as I will be adding pictures of the scope and as soon as the imaging camera arrives I will add some pictures taken off the camera.

Ok. So, I got the deepsky imaging camera with autostar suite today. Clear skys are above me tonight, so anticipate some images later on.
