Default What are the best universities for a degree in Astronomy?

I've been looking around on different websites and have been getting little help. I've gone on visits to different places and they have all given the "well all of our degrees are good" crap. Can anyone give a me a straight forward answer on some universities with good astronomy or astrophysics programs?

What state are you living in currently? Do you have any preference on where you would like to stay? How are your grades and SAT scores?

Most of the University of California schools have excellent programs in Physics and Astronomy. UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, UC San Diego all have excellent programs.

I'm currently an undergraduate and I'm looking at UCSD, UCI, UCSB, UCSC, UCLA, U Chicago, U Maryland, U Texas, and U Arizona for their graduate programs in Physics. All these universities have excellent programs.
