Default A question for astronomy section regulars: What question is more irritating: Moon...

...Hoax or 2012? Which is more irritating for people to ask: Questions asking did we really land on the moon, or is the world going to end in 2012?

It's a tie. I think the people asking those questions have mental problems, especially the 2012 nutjobs. I can understand the conspiracy nuts' mentality but the 2012ers have asked the same question over and over, with the same response. They just don't listen and ask the question again.

EDIT. I just read the question below this one. I'd like to change my answer, the moon crackpots get my vote.

They both are. They have been asked so many times, you can go back and check the answers. If they are not to your liking and you decide to ask again, you will get the same answers.

With "you", I don't mean you personally, by the way. I just don't know how else to put it.

They're both irritating, but for different reasons.

The people that fall for the 2012 stuff just genuinely don't seem to know, and are usually pretty willing to listen to reason and can understand that it's a hoax, once it's explained to them.

The people that perpetuate the moon hoax theory though, they are beyond belief. They have all the proof they need, at their fingertips. Yet they persist in believing the conspiracy theory story - it takes a special breed.

Another annoying one is the "Mars as big as the Moon" e-mail that does the rounds every time Mars comes to opposition

But by far the most annoying IMHO are all those numptys who come on astronomy forums with ASTROLOGY questions.

Not only are they so dumb that they believe in astrology, but they are also too stupid to know there's a difference between astronomy and astrology.

Oh - and also...
Those idiots who come on asking homework questions.
Vast majority can be answered by anyone with access to Google, and 3 working brain cells.
