    Default Stellarium apps

I am going to download the PC version later this evening. I also want a version on my iPhone and iPad. However, I find there are 2 Stellarium apps; Stellarium Mobile Sky Map @ £2.99 and Stellarium Mobile PLUS Sky Map @ £13.99. I have no objection to paying, but as a beginner which one would you recommend?

The basic one should be good enough, the PLUS has access to online data (if you have a signal), but I've never felt short changed by the basic version.
If you think you might be getting a mount with wifi or bluetooth connectivity, the PLUS version has computer control built in. There may will be other functionality built in as well, that might appeal.
Do you get a chance to get refunds on Apple downloads if you don't want to keep it? You could try both, and decide if the additions are worth it, so long as you decide quickly.

NB, without wanting to be smug, it's only £7.49 for the PLUS version on Google Play for Android.

If you have to pay I would suggest to get SkySafari instead. I believe SkySafari basic is free, and Plus and Pro versions are much better than Stellarium.

    First, thanks for recommendation, Bigzmey!
Second - can you explain why do you recommend SkySafari over Stellarium? I was just wondering is there a big difference between these two maps.
Or maybe there's a comparison on this forum that I've missed? Thanks in advance!

You might want to look at some of these free programs before you go out and buy something:

My preferences are Cartes du Ciel and Stellarium.
Mounts: EQ1, LXD55, Atlas EQ-G (one with Rowan belt mod, EQ6-Rail and one without)
