    Smile SynScan for Skywatcher NEQ3

    Hi!
Apologies if this a FAQ but a search has not really answered my specific question:
Will a Orion 7817 SynScan upgrade kit fit onto a SkyWatcher NEQ3 mount.
Trawling the internet and Forum FAQ mentions SkyView NE3 Pro mounts, Celestron mounts and NE3 mounts without mentioning a manufacturer.....
I have learnt that basically three of these come from the same factory in China and are indentical....the only issue I fear is the pitch of the drives on the RA and DEC motors not being correct?
All and any help most gratefully received!!

If both mounts have the same gear tooth count then it will track at the proper rate.
If the Skywatcher mount has a different gear count the mount will run either to slow or fast.

Thank for this ...so the Skywatcher actually does not have gears on the RA or Dec shafts ....so I guess the question is do these come in the upgrade kit.....if they do then its perfect. And a look at the photo on Amazon reveals that they are in the kit!!
Easy Money - we will me mechanized asap!

Each axis has a worm gear and spur gear, that is what makes the mount go round

First thanks to all for the help and now an observation...
IN looking for this equipment I have searched the web and called vendors and manufacturers...is it a ‘thing’ in astronomy circles that folks don’t answer a straight tech question - ‘does this fit this?’. One outfit here in NZ told me absolutely not and they would sell me the Skywatcher unit for $1400!! Orion said they could not comment without seeing the mount yet it appears the Skywatcher, Orion and Skyview mounts all come from the same factory in China and are identical....they must know that?
Final irony is that when you get the photos of the product from Orion, Amazon and several other vendors side by side you realize its the SAME photo...I mean really the same one...with the logo on the handset changed!

The goto kits all look the same but the mounts themselves are not.
The speed is controlled by a chip that is programmed for each mount they are to be installed on.
On the Teleskop-Service link I supplied you can see they say the Skywatcher kit will only work on the NEQ-3, EQ-3 and Celestron CG-4.
