They parted ways a few years ago, sometime just before I joined this forum. Unfortunately the reputation they earned under Hayneedle seems to linger on a bit. I've ordered stuff through them, I've had no issues.

Amazon actually has some of the other sites in their storefront. I know Agena sells through them, but the prices are higher than on their site and you don't get the free shipping that comes with buying directly from the AgenaAstro website, even if you have Prime.

My own philosophy has been to buy directly from the Astro vendors and use Amazon as a last resort, unless there's some outrageous deal on something or I find a good deal through Amazon Warehouse deals (used), its low risk if it's covered by prime.

That's the problem. The Hayneedle operation wasn't under High Point so the previous reputation is completely irrelevant. So the impression I had that there was concern that older problems were persisting is completely baseless.

Perfect example, Amazon has the Zhumell O-III (O-LLL?) 2" filter for $25.

Prime eligible, low risk. If I didn't already have one I might buy this.

High Point or Astronomics, both are great to deal with and can supply good after purchase support.

Unfortunately it is harder to get rid of a bad reputation than foster a good one at times.

Refractors kick arse precisely because they don't hide behind excuses. That is, they have no obstructions to hide behind.

I've heard of Amazon sending out kits with missing parts; seconds, I assume, so beware. I ordered a Zhumell telescope, a Z100, from TelescopesPlus, and with no problems, except when I contacted them for a DOA red-dot finder. They couldn't provide another. I told them that they should keep a box of spares on hand, and in a back room.

I would select either TelescopesPlus, or High Point, for your telescope; a toss-up. Incidentally, the manufacturer of both Zhumell and Apertura is GSO.
"Look, son! Up there!" His son shouted back, "I see it! What is it?" The father regaled, "The galaxy!
