    Default Celestron Neximage camera

    Help please!
I have just bought a Celestron Neximage camera without sufficient research and I find the software driver is only for Windows XP.
Does any one have a driver or link so that it will run on Windows 10?
    Thanks in anticipation of replies.

Unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do and I have a similar problem. I have a Phillips SPC880, an excellent webcam and I have even tried running my PC in emulation mode. I have a Bresser Electronic Eyepiece as I couldn't use older webcams. It is good when it works but causes my PC to crash with alarming frequency.

It is a really annoying problem not limited to just webcams but nobody writes drivers for older equipment on new versions of Windows. We live in a throwaway society. I have an older DSLR and if I photograph anything with it, I need to connect it to my daughter's laptop then copy them to my Windows 8 PC.

I think if anyone wrote drivers for older equipment, they would need to charge a massive amount of money for it and it would be cheaper to buy the new equipment.

The only suggestion is to ask if anyone you know has a Windows XP laptop that is sitting in an attic.

Can you return the camera? The ZWO ASI120MC is not much more expensive and is a much more capable camera. You might even be able to get a good deal on a used ZWO since a lot of users (myself included) have upgraded to the ASI224MC for planetary imaging.

You could also check your local computer shops who may have XP trade-ins for sale or at least let you post your request. Good luck!

I was thinking the same thing... the ZWO ASI120MC-S (you want the “-S” version... that’s USB 3.0) is £151.

It’s a popular camera so loads of software supports it.

I have read that the NextImage is a clone of the PhilipsToUCam and that those drivers should work. The guys above be are probably offering better advice though as i'm new to this myself however I'm quite good with bodging things to work in windows 10.

Can you bodge it to work on Windows 8 or 10?
