You will really like the EPs. I get a lot of stuff from High Point, great vendor.

The color is washed out by glare. You can help this a number of ways depending on how much you want to spend. You can stop the scope down (reduce the aperture) for free. Get a variable polarizing filter for a few dollars and adjust the filtering to taste. Or for the best performance and the most money by far, get a Baader Moon&SkyGlow+FringeKiller filter combo.

I too agree with Ozman on the ES 18mm 82░ EP. It's my most used EP on my Dob. I also use my ES 6.7mm 82░ EP quite a bit as well on that scope.

I agree with Oz and Abb about the ES 82 degree fov 18 mm ep. I use it for all my dso viewing and it is great quality for the money. For planet viewing, I use my other ES eps but the 8.8 mm might give me a bigger image but the shaking/vibration on the image as you move the focuser or scope is high. I would not recommend any ep less than 8 mm in your scope at this point.

As others have said, spend your money on high quality eps and wait on filters. I only have 1 quality uhc filter for nebulae viewing and I waited until after I had a number of ES eps and some time viewing dsos before buying it.

The ES 18 is a great eyepiece and my favorite one for DSO's. It is my most used eyepiece. I also find the GSO 30 mm Superview (the kind that came with your scope) is a decent, but not great eyepiece - for example, I found and observed all 110 Messier objects with it. It works better in my refractor than either the 10" or 18" Dobs.
