    Default Condensation

Hello everybody... I have an Orion xt8 8 in Dob. I've noticed the optical tube gets very wet with condensation almost instantly after the sun goes down. Is there any way to prevent or minimize this?

That's very common on all telescopes, and as long as it's the tube exterior I wouldn't worry about it. It's when your secondary and primary fog over that you should worry.

Hi Jodham, and welcome here to the Forum!

As Lokifish said, condensation on the outside is not so much of a problem, but inside on your mirrors will be. That's where blowing heated air like from a hair dryer (on low temperature) might be useful.

    Good luck, and clear skies!
