The only possible problem I could see with having a Z8 is the size of the scope if you are needing to transport it in a VERY small car. Mine will not fit in my Miata, but easily fits in the trunk of my Impala sedan along with the base or would fit in the back seat of MOST cars. My 12" Dob is a different story, I must use my truck to transport it.

The weight of the 8" Dob is easily manageable to MOST people with the tube under one arm and the base held by the other or make two very easy trips.

The performance of the Dob is top notch, easily outperforming smaller scopes and is among the very easiest of scopes to operate. About the only way to surpass this scope is to spend MUCH more and then you still have the issues a large scope presents.

As mentioned previously in choice of scope
    1. 8 inch Dobs they are all good so get the one with better extras
    2. 127 SLT Mak not sure of prices where you are but here its 40% cheaper that a 5 SE SCT
    3. 6 SE a bit more that the 5 SE but much better mount , I know its not on your list but a good scope

However I would rather look so a used scope such as a 8 SE

    MCT Bosma 150 F12 on a EQ5

    This a decent buy on a CPC 800 8" GOTO Telescope? https://fortcollins.craigslist.org/f...180204891.html
