Default What is the different between Badder Solar film&Glass White-Light Solar Filter

Does badder film to be easily heated from sun cause leak or damged?
Is Glass's anti heat ability better than film?
Or the view image is different.
Because the cost is a little bit different the badder film might be a cheap choice.

Sorry eveyrbody, I have so much question and longing to know, maybe its a stupid question.

They all do the same thing.
The Baader film gives you a B&W view (for lack of better term) and some of the other filters will give you a yellow/ orange tint to the view.
It all comes down to what kind of view you would want.
I have used Baader for years and like it a lot.

Because the vast majority of the sun's rays are BLOCKED from entering the scope, there is no build up of heat for either the film or the glass. If handled correctly, a film filter will last as long as a glass filter. I have both, I have multiple scopes, so I use both frequently.

Thanks so much for Gabby&Ozman's information. Its so helpful for me.
I always worry about when using the badder film getting the sun's heat leakage caused eyes blind.
So I consider to buy a solar filter to choose the glass one replace badder film. Now I can make a choice to get badder film because of it is cheaper and
as same as glass's durability. If I want to yellow or orange color just added color filter on eyepiece.

You can get other film filters as cheaply as the Baader filters that will show you an orange/yellow sun. I would not put a colored filter on the EP as this will only degrade the view. If you want to see a colored sun, get a film or glass filter that will show you a colored sun. Just make sure that whatever filter you get, it covers the entire front of the scope and you remove (safest), cover completely, or completely filter (just as safe) any finder scope.

I just forget the finder scope is also needs the solar filter. Thanks for your call attention to finder scope.I will take care about the cover completely.
I have relealized using film filters or glass is better than used EP colored filter to seeing the color sun.Thank you,Ozman. To save my eyes again.
