I received an unbelievable email back, telling me that he didn't like my attitude and he was considering refusing my application. I saved him the trouble and withdrew it. I've been in IT for more than 20 years and been a web developer and lecturer myself, and I have NEVER come across such appalling behaviour from a developer. What a joke.

    So ... the search continues.

I'm sorry you had such a rotten experience. I downloaded this software about 2.5 years ago. 2 years ago, the gentleman (used loosely) you dealt with, John Eccles, bought the rights to this software. Although he still allows for free downloads, he appears to be quite the contentious knucklehead! Because I downloaded this software before he bought the rights, my dealings with him has been minimal, but others (I subscribe to his forum) have not had great experiences with his ownership. Once again it is great software but I understand your "pain" level to get something for free has been exceeded.

I won't be recommending this software to anyone else as long he is involved.

    Cheers,
    JT

Thanks JT! I'm not a confrontational person myself and I usually end up second-guessing myself when situations like this come up. I'm relieved to hear I'm not the only one who has had these kinds of problems. I sympathise if he's having a bad day, but quite honestly I'm simply not interested in being his punching bag, and I won't stand for childish behaviour like that. It's a pity, because from what little I could glean of the software it sounds like it might have been the best prospect I've found so far. Anyway, moving on.

I found Nova for Windows which also looked fairly promising, but after wasting a lot of time and data (I have very limited download capacity), it seems like the setup exe is corrupted and Windows Installer just gives errors before even starting the installation. So it's back to square one. Again 8-|
