Default meade infinity 102 or es ar102 telescope for a beginner

Hello everyone. I am looking into my first scope and after doing some research, I have come to a choice between the Meade infinity 102 or the ES AR 102. The Meade 102 comes with everything a beginner needs for a very good price and has some great reviews. On the other hand so does the ES AR 102 and I maynhave a lead on getting a used one with a twilight 1 mount and a 28mm 82° eyepiece for a coule hundred more. I am looking for a good grab and go and a scope that I can pack in the car when I go camping to look at the moon, planets, the messiers etc. I am looking also for the best bang for the buck.

Thanks for reading and looking forward to any advice.

The twilight is a better mount and fit and finish will probably be a touch better on the ES over the Meade for this scope. 102mm is a great size for a grab and go refractor and I'm sure you will enjoy either one of these.

The AR102 without a doubt. It is superior to the Infinity. Better focuser and better on CA.

I'm with everyone else. ES makes excellent products. Meade was very well known with their LX series but in my opinion, do not compare with ES or SW when it comes to refractors in this price range.

The Meade isn't even in the same ballpark as the ES. Not even close. The Twilight I is a vastly superior mount. The Meade focuser is one small step above crap.

I'm with everyone else as well. I love my AR102 - excellent scope and even better when you put good lenses on it

Thanks to everyone who replied with your thoughts and advice. It looks to be a strong feeling for the AR 102. Looks likeI will need to save a little me, but in the end will be worth it.
    Thanks again.
