I others said, i also use Stellarium in my pc. Recently I had problems with the 13.1 version (the last one) and i could not figure out if somehing went wrong with either the progra installation or my PC video settings. Well, after also I went back to a 12.something version and it works nice.
On my tablet I have sky portal and app from celestron. For now it's OK but I have heard that sky safari is much better.

While I have a ton of Astro apps on my iPhone as well as on my Nexus 7 I rarely use wither of them while in my observatory where I keep a computer... I have Stellarium and Cartes Du Ceil loaded on the computer but use Cartes 90 percent of the time...and my home page in my browser is www.tonightssky.com)

I gave up using programs and apps to control my scope .... too much work and too slow when compared to just using the scopes HC

Thank you all, that's given me plenty to look at

I don't have an Android phone which leaves out a few, but I've already got 28 Space-related apps on my iPhone that'll make up for that, but I need to cut that list into far less

I've installed Stellarium and had a look around, I can see that being very useful - although Sky Walk 2 on iOS is more informative about the things you're looking at... which is nice

Just about to have a little look at Cartes Du Ciel before I go to bed - it's already 3.30am... I imagine my insomnia is going to be of great benefit in this hobby

Here's my fave iOS Astronomy apps so far:

    1. Star Walk 2 - Sky guide
    2. Redshift - Sky guide
    3. Scope Nights - Weather for Astronomers
    4. Look App - Tells you what's the best stuff to look at in the sky above you tonight
    5. Skyportal (Celestron Sky Guide and controller for computerised telescopes - mine's not computerised, but it's a lovely app anyway)
