    Default Homemade Elevation Scale

My homemade telescope has no scale on it. If I were to make an elevation scale from 0 to 90 degrees on one side and 0 to 90 degrees on the other and attach it to the mount where I could have a pointer off of my tube where it would show me the degrees that I am at could this work for showing me the elevation of different objects in the sky?

    Hi Rudy,

I think your idea should work. Do you have room for a big half circle? The bigger the circle, the more useful it becomes. (easier to calibrate and read)

    bye!

Or, if you are so inclined, buy a digital inclinometer. It would be just a touch more accurate but not as much fun putting together.
