A lot depends on your health and budget, light pollution etc. etc...
But most newbies benefit from a DOB as a starter scope...6-8 inch

Hello and Welcome to the Forum. I would recommend an 8" Dobsonian style scope because of the light-grasp and ability to see some of the fainter objects. If you are constrained on space or want something a bit less expensive go for a 6" Dob or something in the 4-5" range which you can get for under $200. There are lots of vendors out there online where you can select a scope and have it shipped to you rather than poking around for stores that carry scopes. Stick with one of the more reliable vendors/brands like Celestron, Meade, Zhumell, Orion, or Apertura. If you search for 8" inch dobsonian you'll find many online vendors who advertise and you'll probably see them in the first three-or-four responses to your search query. Then select the scope that fits your budget and inclinations. You can't go wrong with one of the above vendors so maybe just give it a try...Best of luck in your search.
