How do you adjust the Right Ascension plate to the current position before starting the tracking on the celestron 8 2000mm f 10?

You are going to have to specify what mount you have that OTA mounted on.. all the info you provided is about the OTA and nothing on the mount...

For visual observing--The axis of the mount should be pointed at Polaris -- for astrophotography you must point it directly at the North or (south) celestial pole which is a short distance away from Polaris.

We are assuming that you have a WEDGE arrangement as a mount-- see this:
