Default Ordered bushnell ares 5 .need a good eyepiece now

I ordered a bushnell ares 5 as a starter scope snd now looking for a good eyepiece to zoom in on stuff...I read that wide view eyepieces don't work because focal length is short??? would the expanse or agena budget eyepieces work?

A fast telescope tends to do very nicely with wide angle eyepieces.

The thing is that the telescope is, IMHO, a pretty fast one with a focal ratio of 5.

Fast telescopes tend to show a fair bit of softening/aberration toward the edge of the field of view if you use fairly normal eyepieces with them. The really good eyepieces for this kind of thing tend to be quite expensive (as in, costing far more than your telescope for even one).

For now, probably your best compromise eyepiece would be some of the GSO Superviews from Agena Astro. But it doesn't hurt to just use the eyepieces which come with the telescope for a while.
