    Default Skywatcher Skyliner-200P

    Hi guys

Im all new to this astronomy stuff and like alot of people choosing a scope for a complete beginner is like a minefield. However, after much reading (Talking Months here) I have decided upon 2 telescopes. Either the Skywatcher Skyliner-150p or the Skywatcher Skyliner-200P. Seeing as this is my 1st scope i have a couple of questions.

1: as im only going to be using the scope everynow and then which one would you recomend
2: because i want to get into astronomy, i dont want to be put off if i end up going for the smaller scope and find the views to be abit dissapointing but at the same time, will the smaller scope be a better purchase as its cheaper?

    Thanks for your help

I would definitely recommend the 8" if the difference in price isn't too much and you can afford it. The views through it are amazing, and it isn't too much difference in portability.

If you get the 6" you will soon be thinking "I wish I got the 8" to begin with.

I had the 8" out the other night and the views of Jupiter were outstanding.

    I vote for the 200P.

Sort of like going to a restaurant. You can go to one that serves OK food, or you can go to one that serves great food but costs a bit more. If you just want a meal the OK food will serve, but if you want a delight for the senses you pay the extra to get the great food.

Either telescope will make a great starter scope. However, the views in the 200P will be slightly better than those in the 150P. How much better? Not much but definitely worth the extra £75 the Skywatcher Skyliner 200P Dob will cost.
