I would definitely recommend the 8" if the difference in price isn't too much and you can afford it. The views through it are amazing, and it isn't too much difference in portability.
If you get the 6" you will soon be thinking "I wish I got the 8" to begin with.
I had the 8" out the other night and the views of Jupiter were outstanding.
