Default is this a good scope for a beginner?

I found a craigslist ad for a Meade Saturn DS114ec. I talked to the seller and I can get it for 140$.

Im a beginner and starting to learn. Is this something that is good to learn on? Should i buy new? Is this a good deal?

I googled but didnt find too much relevant information.

140 dollars sounds OK - as long as the bits are all there and they work and the mirror and secondary are clean and looked after.
The question really is can you see yourself using it night after night, or will you be looking round for something bigger? - in which case I'd save up and buy something bigger
4 1/2" isn't a big miror and I doubt you'll be satisfied long- go to a star party and have a look at what's available and what you can see. Then sort out a budget and save for it.
    Best of luck
