Welcome to the world of neighbors and astronomy. My neighbor behind me has 2 triple head security lights (150Watt bulbs) so that's 900 watts of lights, that have run dusk to dawn since about August. 5 years and they've never come on once. I get a telescope and wow guess what happens. Luckily the lights have been dying and one side has quit completely. Seeing as how she doesn't even use her backyard I doubt she'll notice when they quit completely. It's just one of those unfortunate things that happens. Sorry you missed Saturn, maybe next time the power will go out and everyone will have to be cold with ya.

Thanks for the report. Sorry about your neighbor. Some folks build light blinds using black fabric on a PVC pipe frame. That might be a good thing for you to try.

I got a kick out of #5. That so sounds like something I would do. Hang in there, you will have a pristine night before long.

My next-door neighbor comes out roughly 2 or 3 times an hour to smoke and his motion sensor spot light comes on every time. It kills me.

Wave to him, invite him over to have a quick peek in your scope, strike a conversation and then say that you can see even more if his there were less lights.
